The beautifulMalbis AL Greek Orthodox Church Greek Orthodox Church is a must-see for visitors from far and wide. It is in an historic area of Malbis, to the east of Daphne. The Greek Orthodox Church serves as a tribute to Jason Malbis, the original founder of the Malbis Plantation. The stunning wall murals  depict the life of Christ and leave visitors with a lasting impression.

Malbis AL Greek Orthodox CathedralThe carved marble and stained glass religious art is an exact copy of a stately church in Athens, Greece. Marble was shipped from the same quarries that provided stone for the ancient, magnificent Parthenon. A "master painter" and his talented helpers came over from Greece to handpaint the murals on the walls, the panels and the ceiling of the rotunda. Original hand-carved figures and elaborate ornaments used in various rites were brought from Greece and assembled in the church. This Greek Orthodox Church in Byzantine architectural style opened in 1965. It is well worth a side trip to view when you are in Malbis.
